The Hummingbird Encounter
My husband and I were enjoying a retreat to one of our favorite weekend get-aways – Estes Park Colorado. We were enjoying our coffee near the Big Thompson River, enjoying the peace and quiet of a summer morning. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and I was feeling relaxed and content. Suddenly, I felt a small flutter of wings and a hummingbird appeared in front of me. It hovered for a moment, looking me right in the eye. I was so close that I could see the tiny details of its deep red chest. The hummingbird stayed there for what felt like minutes, just looking at me, and I at him. I didn't move or speak. I just sat there, mesmerized by its beauty and focused attention. Finally, the hummingbird flew away. But I will never forget that moment. It was an incredible experience that I will cherish forever. My husband as witness agreed, the hummingbird and I shared a moment. What does it mean to have a face-to-face encounter with a hummingbird? There are many possible interpretations. Many believe that it is a sign of good luck. Hummingbirds are often seen as symbols of joy, love, and happiness. So, seeing one up close could be a message from the universe that good things are coming your way. Others believe that a hummingbird encounter is a sign from a loved one who has passed away. Hummingbirds are often seen as messengers between the living and the dead. So, if you have lost someone close to you, seeing a hummingbird could be a way for them to let you know that they are still with you in spirit. Still others believe that a hummingbird encounter is a spiritual experience. Hummingbirds are often seen as symbols of transformation and rebirth. So, seeing one up close could be a message from your higher self that you are about to embark on a new chapter in your life. Some people believe that hummingbirds are messengers from the 4th dimension. The 4th dimension is a hypothetical realm that exists beyond our three-dimensional world. It is often thought of as a place where time and space are interwoven, and where anything is possible. If hummingbirds are indeed messengers from the 4th dimension, then what kind of messages might they be bringing us? Here are a few possibilities:
They may be reminding us that anything is possible.
They may be encouraging us to move forward with our lives, even when things are tough.
They may be telling us to stay hopeful, even when things seem hopeless.
They may be helping us to connect with our higher selves.
If you ever see a hummingbird, take a moment to appreciate its beauty and its mystery. It may just be a message from the 4th dimension. In addition to the reasons mentioned above, here are some other ways in which a hummingbird encounter could be interpreted as a message from the 4th dimension:

Ultimately, the meaning of a hummingbird encounter is up to you to decide. But whatever the interpretation, it is clear that these tiny creatures hold a special place in our hearts and minds.
